The crazy Hawaii Chair

The Hawaii chair is a crazy “exercise” type chair which is supposedly able to give you a workout by just sitting down. I can just imagine the board of directors having a meeting hula’ing away while discussing million dollar contracts.

How can this be comfortable?

Microsoft to buy Yahoo for 44.6 Billion??

Microsoft just announced what has been rumored forever: a formal offer for Yahoo. Microsoft’s proposal to Yahoo’s board of directors represents $31 per share (a 62% premium over yesterday’s closing price) or about $44.6 Billion. Steve Ballmer, CEO and big fan of developers, says, “We have great respect for Yahoo!, and together we can offer an increasingly exciting set of solutions for consumers, publishers and advertisers while becoming better positioned to compete in the online services market.” Apparently, the deal was laid out in a letter sent by Ballmer to Yahoo’s board just yesterday. Seriously. The letter confirms that the two giants have been discussing the topic since late 2006. It also appears to be a direct response to the Google threat as outlined in the following paragraph:

“Today, the market is increasingly dominated by one player who is consolidating its dominance through acquisition. Together, Microsoft and Yahoo! can offer a credible alternative for consumers, advertisers, and publishers.”

The deal, of course, rests with the two coming to a “merger agreement” and Microsoft (and Yahoo to a limited degree) having the time to conduct the required due diligence. Microsoft is ready to begin immediate discussions and have a draft merger agreement ready for consideration. So Yahoo, ball’s in your court. The world is wondering… what will you do?

Asus’ EAH3870 X2 1GB TOP – Radeon HD 3870 X2

As if a regular Radeon HD 3870 X2 wasn’t enough to make you envious, the folks at HotHardware have now gotten their hands Asus’ new EAH3870 X2 1GB TOP behemoth, which increases the insanity of the dual-GPU card even further with a full four DVI ports. In addition to making that lone s-video port look woefully out of place, those’ll let you push out more pixels than you’ll ever likely need across four monitors, with none of the compromises associated with lesser multi-monitor solutions. What’s more, Asus’ card is apparently even lighter than the original reference design for the HD 3870 X2, and you can rest assured that it’ll be overclocked right out of the box. No word on a price or release date just yet, but HotHardware is promising to deliver a full review of the card if they can ever pull themselves away from their bank of monitors.

Features:

  • 1GB of .8ns Hynix GDDR3 DRAM (1200MHz/2.4GHz GDDR3)
  • Quad dual-link DVI outputs
  • Overclocked out of the box (speeds to be announced in our full review)
  • Custom cooling with dual fans
  • All copper heat-plate with heatpipes linked to dual aluminum heatsinks.
  • Much lighter wieght than the original reference design AMD Radeon HD 3870 X2
  • Dual slot solution

Moldable Mouse Consept

Moldable Mouse breaks the boundaries of the traditional mouse with its revolutionary design. Currently, all computer mouse products in the market are made with hard plastic, and their shapes are not universally adaptable to the human hand. Even the most advanced “ergonomically designed” mouse does not fit the preferences of every user. The inelasticity of the plastic model is problematic for long-time usage, as numerous people have suffered wrist injuries from extensive use in a fixed position. Moldable Mouse eliminates this problem with its unique design.

Moldable Mouse is made of non-toxic lightweight modelling clay, covered with nylon and polyurethane blend fabric. It can be kneaded into any shape the user prefers, and the shape is self-retaining. By allowing a wide variety of hand positions when holding the mouse, it reduces repeated motions of the same posture, thereby minimising the chance of common mouse-related injuries such as the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The click buttons and touch-sensitive scroll pad of the mouse are stick-on parts with built-in RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Device), which can be repositioned for maximum comfort.
The nylon and polyurethane blend fabric covering comes in a variety of colours. The texture of the material feels similar to silk, but is much more flexible. Its softness significantly increases the comfort level of the mouse over that of the traditional plastic versions. Patterns and graphics can be printed on the fabric to make the Moldable Mouse more visually appealing. The base of the mouse, made of 100% recyclable PC/ABS plastic blend, houses the PCB (Printed Circuit Board), laser optics and batteries. Reducing plastic usage to a minimum by using mostly non-toxic clay and fabric, the Moldable Mouse is also an ecologically responsible product.

38 Million Candle Power First-Gen Light Sabor

Inside the Maxblaster

PERFORMANCE: Some flashlights pump out more light, but the Maxablaster has a much greater reach because the mercury arc lamp creates a tightly focused beam. Ottow says he once illuminated a ferry boat some nine miles away.

POWER: Thebulb is typically used for lab equipment and is designed to run off an outlet, so Ottow had the difficult task of packing together 54 off-the-shelf nickel-metal-hydride batteries. To regulate the current, he added a ballast.

SAFETY: Ottow installed a strong glass window in case the pressure shatters the bulb and gave it an extra coating to block harmful UV rays. He also added a mechanism so the light needs a key to operate.
